The Team

Stacey-Leigh Dolan

CEO and Founder

She has worked in the criminal justice system for the past 10 years and is currently studying a master’s degree in senior leadership and rehabilitation. Stacey-Leigh worked in her first prison at 19, when she volunteered to take part in a collaborative outreach project with HMP & YOI Marshgate, a male, category B, holding prison. Since then Stacey-Leigh has worked as a Residential Care Officer for the Youth Justice Board, a Service Delivery Manager for a charity working within the prison network and a Project Manager for an organisation that delivered on an education contract for three prisons in London.

Stacey-Leigh has even had some global experience working in the criminal justice sector, when she taught English and Drama at Hong Kong’s only young offenders institute.

She had seen first-hand that both prisons and prisoners are all unique, so any effective programme would require a tailored approach. That’s why BreakAway prides itself on its openness and willingness to adapt and develop programmes for each and every individual.

Emma Hewes

A qualified FCCA Accountant with 10 years’ experience in accountancy. Having qualified at a Big 4 firm, Emma now works as Head of Group Reporting and Financial Planning at a global listed company. Emma feels impassioned to contribute to society in a more meaningful way than just reporting profits for major corporations, and feels that supporting BreakAway, in the best way she can, is a fantastic opportunity that really can make a difference to some that are truly vulnerable within our society.

Michael Efthymiou

Coming from a creative background, Michael was a professional actor for a number of years before moving into the youth and charity sector. Supporting young people from a range of backgrounds Michael is passionate about supporting the young people of today to build stronger communities for tomorrow. BreakAway is a platform with missions very close to his heart.

William Peart

William has had a varied career, starting academically with History in the North of England after which he then built his own tuition business. This enabled him to work with some of the most underprivileged people in the U.K. and help them realise their aspirations. Working as a professional musician, primary school teacher, charity project manager and now a cross Government commercial specialist and policy advisor has brought a wealth of experiences. The common thread has always been having a positive impact on people’s lives. William is proud to continue that endeavour with BreakAway.
